A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "At 8.47am on Wednesday, West Midlands Fire Service were called to a fire on New Road, Halesowen. Firefighters from Haden Cross and Oldbury fire stations attended this incident.
“The rear engine compartment of a single decker coach had caught fire, and firefighters used hoses and breathing apparatus to tackle the fire. Due to our use of water and coolant leakage from the engine, crews stayed to work with colleagues from West Midlands Police and the Highways Agency to make the road safe given the current cold conditions. Recovery of the coach has been arranged.
“We thank drivers for their patience and allowing us to work safely while we dealt with the incident.”
