Schoolboy injured after being hit by van in Halesowen
A boy has been taken to hospital with potentially serious injuries after being hit by a van in Halesowen.
The seven-year-old suffered head injuries when he was hit by the vehicle as he crossed over the road.
Paramedics were sent to the scene on Rosemary Road, near Lutley Primary School, at around 3.40pm today.
A spokesman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 3.40pm to Rosemary Road, Halesowen.
"We currently have two ambulances, two paramedic officers and a critical care paramedic at the scene.
"One boy is being conveyed to Birmingham Children’s Hospital with serious injuries."
The Air Ambulance was scrambled to the scene and landed, but soon left the scene as it wasn't needed.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We were alerted by ambulance colleagues to a collision in Rosemary Road, Halesowen, at around 3.40pm in which a child was hit by a van.
"It's understood the boy, believed to be aged seven, was crossing the road when he was hit by the vehicle.
"He suffered a head injury but it's not believed to be life threatening or life changing. The boy has been transferred to hospital. Rosemary Road was closed off while emergency crews attended the scene."
