Man recovering after being rescued from Black Country canal

A man is recovering after he was rescued from drowning in a Black Country canal.

The man was rescued from a canal after a fall on Sunday

The man was pulled to safety by passers-by before paramedics gave him life support at the scene, near to Coombs Road, Halesowen.

He was in a critical condition after being taken to hospital on Sunday afternoon.

However a West Midlands Police spokesman said 'he woke up and identified himself to police', adding there was 'no suspicious circumstances' around his fall.
