Businesses at Pioneer House were informed by their landlord of the decision at the start of the month – along with the bombshell that they may have to leave the premises in less than three months.

Now council planners have granted consent for its demolition in October.

Landlord Khosrow Omidvar said all the businesses had been aware that plans could go forward for demolition and that he would be supporting them in finding alternative premises.

The building is currently home to KMM Tyres, APT Health and Fitness, Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Star Taxis.

It was best known for housing Halesowen Sports Club until a fire forced it to move last year.
