Fundraiser launched as 'legend' of Coseley community has bike camera stolen
Neighbours have rallied round in a show of support after a popular Black Country man had a GoPro camera stolen off his bike.
Scott Round is well known in Coseley for his regular good deeds around the village and has won community awards for his voluntary work.
He often goes shopping for the elderly, puts out rubbish bins for neighbours, chats to lonely people to brighten their day and helps mend people's bikes.
He also delivers papers, leaflets and community newsletters and is a familiar sight around the village on his trusty push bike.
But on Tuesday morning Scott discovered the camera and light had been stolen from his bike while he had been parked outside Movie Magic in Roseville.
He said: "If you are the person that has this camera please take it back to the paper shop in Roseville where I work.
"It might not mean any thing to you just a piece of plastic with a camera but to me it’s everything as it keeps me covered in case of an accident.
"I know it’s a long shot but it costs a lot of money to buy these kind of things and I work hard to get these things and I don’t but then just to have someone else pinch it.
"It’s going to take me a while to save up and get the money for this but if you can have it in your heart and bring it back I would be grateful."
Appeal
The community have rallied round Scott to show their support and have set up a Just Giving page to raise £270 so he can buy a new camera.
Friend and neighbour Kate Beale, who started the page, called Scott "a Coseley legend".
Earlier this year he was handed the Frank Foley award for community spirit in the Mayor of Dudley Civic Awards.
Kate said: "You will regularly see Scott around the local community delivering the papers – he does it out of the goodness of his heart.
"He has recently had his GoPro camera and light stolen from his bike. This helps him and adds peace of mind if he in an accident which he can re-play back.
"Please let's help any small donation will buy him this equipment again."
