Footpath in Coseley blocked by overgrown bushes

It could be mistaken for a hedgerow - but this is actually a public footpath on a Coseley junction that has been hidden by overgrown bushes and weeds.

The unsightly area is on the corner of Webb Street and Darkhouse Lane, not too far from the Birmingham New Road.

Pedestrians would struggle to even walk on the footpath as it is blocked by the overgrowth near the former outbuilding.

The image was tweeted by travel journalist Tom Stokes yesterday, and claims that Western Power say that it is owned by Imperial Properties Ltd.

The tweet reads: "@dudleymbc According to @wpduk this mess is owned by Imperial Properties Ltd. Footpaths on Webb Street & Darkhouse Lane are totally blocked."

But mystery surrounds who owns the land, with Imperial Properties telling the Express & Star that they were not aware of the site, nor do their services extend as far as there.
