West Midlands Fire Service crews from Brierley Hill fire station were called to a property in the area on Saturday to help Benji the cat.

Benji had been stuck up a tree in a resident's garden, in the Shaver's End area, for three days.

But fire crews used a ladder and a saw to rescue Benji – who they said was very hungry after three days up a tree.

Making light of the situation, Brierley Hill fire station shared the rescue on Twitter with the hashtag #NotJustFires.

They added: "We also partake in tree surgery. A bit of a cliche but Benji the cat had been stuck in a tree for three days.

"Not anymore thanks to some creative ladder and saw work.

"Once rescued Benji didn’t want to hang about for a photo though as he was a bit hungry."
