Body of elderly woman found in Brierley Hill canal
The body of an elderly woman was found in a canal in Brierley Hill.
The woman was discovered in the Stourbridge Canal near Brettell Lane just after 8am this morning.
West Midlands Police attended the scene just off Brythill Drive in Silver Lane but her death is not being treated as suspicious.
The woman is yet to be identified.
A spokesman for the force said: "Police were alerted after the body of an elderly woman was found in the canal off Brythill Drive, Brierley Hill just after 8am this morning on December 31.
"Her death is not currently being treated as suspicious and efforts are on-going to identify her."
