Travellers set up camp on playing field next to Withymoor Primary School, in Brierley Hill, last night.

Caravans also pulled onto an adjourning field next to a One Stop convenience shop, in Turner's Lane.

Footage capturing the moments after the caravans pulled onto the fields was filmed by a concerned resident.

It came after a third group of caravans was parked on Withymoor Park, by Sainsbury's supermarket, off Sandringham Way, from last week.

A ward councillor estimated there are more than 30 caravans across the sites and said residents have had 'their lives plunged into chaos'.

Dudley Council chiefs had been working with West Midlands Police to evict the travellers. The caravans began moving off the fields near the convenience shop at around 2.45pm.

Meanwhile Stourbridge MP Margot James urged police to use special eviction powers to move groups on more quickly..

Community leaders were inundated with calls from residents – with reports of 'criminal activity, intimidation, fly-tipping and theft from shops'.

Ms James said: “I have been inundated with reports by residents in Amblecote and Withymoor Village about these travellers.

"I am alarmed and concerned by some of the information I have received.

"Reports of criminal activity, intimidation, fly-tipping and theft from local shops are all deeply concerning to residents.

"In my view the actions taken by travellers amount to a theft of local amenities which are there for the general public and not a small minority thereof.”

Amblecote ward councillor Paul Bradley said: “My community have had their lives plunged into chaos due to these illegal intruders who are clearly breaking the law."

Councillor Les Jones, the cabinet member for housing at Dudley Council, said: "Pretty much all of the travellers have gone from all three sites. A couple are left but they will be gone by today, there is no doubt about that.

"The police on site will make sure they have gone, they have made a note of their registrations.

"The travellers have moved on nice and peacefully."

Councillor Jones has proposed building a site in the borough where travellers can park up temporarily, to help prevent them camping illegally.

Meanwhile a smaller group of caravans was spotted on land behind a doctors surgery on Milking Bank Road in Dudley.

The travellers were photographed parked up on grass behind Castlemeadows Surgery on Tuesday evening - just two weeks after a large group pitched up on fields next to nearby Milking Bank Primary School.
