According to the  popular attraction, its marketing team sent out more adoption packages for the three-year-old during 2024 than any other animal on site.

But collectively, the zoo’s Humboldt penguins also proved incredibly popular, with individual favourites including Bluey, Bandit, Bingo and Bowser.

Staff also revealed Flop, the zoo’s special penguin who lost her waddle, received lots of new fans over the festive season.

Dudley Zoo and Castle's marketing manager, Andrea Hales, said: “Red panda, Ember, definitely continues to dominate the adoption list alongside our penguins, while giraffes, Kira and Josie, also proved popular over Christmas too.”
