In a meeting at the Council House, members of Dudley's Planning Committee unanimously voted against plans to convert a house into a children's home.

The house, known as the Tracey Wilder House, has been operating as a children's home for the past few months.

Speaking outside of the council house following the win, a neighbour to the property, Shaz Kerchar, said: "This residence will still run as social housing, which is part of the problem. But it's one battle at a time.

"It's a win today, but the battle will go on, We know they will appeal, but we need to keep fighting."
