Flytipping set alight inside listed Tipton building
Firefighters across the Black Country responded to a blaze at a listed building where a pile of fly-tipping was set alight.
Dudley's White Watch fire crew were among twenty firefighters who tackled the blaze on Tuesday and were at the scene for several hours.
The fire is said to have been extinguished by 2.25pm, with crews remaining at the scene to make sure it was safe.
A photo shows one firefighter operating a crane with another two firefighters examining the roof of the building, which was partially destroyed.
Dudley Fire Station wrote on social media just after 6pm on Tuesday: "White Watch have spent the afternoon working with the HP after some fly-tipping was set on fire inside a listed building."
A spokesperson for West Midlands Fire Service said: "Shortly before 12.30pm on June 27, we are called to a fire on Factory Road, Tipton.
"Twenty firefighters from several Black Country fire stations attended, with three fire engines, a 4x4 Brigade Response Vehicle and a hydraulic platform in use.
"The fire involved an unused single-storey listed building, measuring 30 x 15 metres.
"Two main jets and two hose reels were used to extinguish the fire, which was confirmed to be out at 2.25pm. No-one was injured.
"Crews remained at the scene for several hours to damp down, remove roof tiles and check for hotspots.
"We left the scene at 7.24pm."
