Man dies and woman left injured after crash between Audi and pick-up truck on Dudley road
Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a man died in a crash in Dudley.
The incident, between a blue Audi A5 and a blue Toyota Hilux pick-up truck, took place at around 6.42am on Monday.
One of the drivers, a man, was pulled from his vehicle but despite the best efforts of paramedics he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other driver, a woman, was taken to Russells Hall Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The road was closed off for some time as emergency services worked at the scene.
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "Upon arrival, we found a man and a woman who were the drivers of each vehicle.
"The man was extricated from the vehicle by the fire service. Once extricated, ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support to him.
"Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, it became clear that nothing more could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased at the scene.
"The driver of the second car was assessed and had sustained non-life threatening injuries.
"She received treatment from ambulance staff at the scene before being conveyed to Russells Hall Hospital for further assessment."
West Midlands Fire Service were also in attendance at the scene.
A spokesman for the service said: "At 6.49am we responded to a serious collision at the junction of High Arcal Road and Himley Road in Himley.
"Fire engines from Dudley and Brierley Hill attended the incident, with the first appliance arriving within five minutes of being mobilised. A fire engine from Wombourne also attended the scene."
