Man arrested after car crashes into home near Stourbridge
A man has been arrested after a car crashed into a house near Stourbridge.
Emergency services were called after a car crashed into a house in Lye.
The car smashed into the property on Green Lane, colliding with the front door and wall.
The homeowner was not injured and no one was trapped or injured in the incident.
A 21-year-old man has been arrested and remains in police custody.
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: " We were called to Green Lane, Lye, in Stourbridge at around 11.10pm last night to reports a car had crashed into a house.
"Fortunately no injuries were reported.
"A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drink or drugs and criminal damage. He remains in police custody.
"Anyone with information has been asked to contact police on 101, quoting crime number 20/332265/21."
It damaged the exterior of the property, cracking the wall and toppling brickwork.
The front of the vehicle was crumpled in the crash, with considerable damage to the bonnet.
West Midlands Fire Service was called for assistance by West Midlands Police at 11.14pm on Friday to make the scene safe.
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "We had the initial call from police to say that a car had crashed into a house.
"Crews from Stourbridge and Brierley Hill fire stations were in attendance.
"We provided general assistance to the occupier of the house.
"No one was trapped or injured."
