Woman cut free as BMW overturns in crash near Himley Hall

A woman had to be cut free after her car overturned in a crash in the Black Country.

A BMW and a van were involved in the crash outside the entrance to Himley Hall on Himley Road shortly before 10am on Wednesday.

Firefighters had to cut the roof off the BMW to free the woman after the car ended up on its side before she was taken to Russells Hall Hospital.

The B4176 Himley Road was closed as emergency services dealt with the incident and the car was recovered.

A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 9.51am on Wednesday to reports of a collision between a car and a van on Himley Road, outside the entrance to Himley Hall. One ambulance attended.

"On arrival we discovered one patient, a woman, who had to be cut free from the car that had overturned in the incident.

"She was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Russell’s Hall Hospital for further treatment."

West Midlands Fire Service has been contacted for comment.
