DWMH is also one of the highest performing trusts in the country.

The trust, which employs more than 1,100 staff, was top in seven out of the 10 key themes which the survey looks at, when compared to 24 specialist mental health and learning disability trusts across the country.

A total of 91 per cent of respondents thought that their role makes a difference to patients, while 88 per cent were pleased with the quality of care they were able to provide. This is the highest score across both mental health and learning disability trusts and compared to other NHS trusts in the Black Country.

Other areas where DWMH scored highest include staff morale, support to staff and staff feeling they can make a difference. Staff also believe that the trust makes effective use of patient feedback.

Chief executive at the trust, Mark Axcell, said: “This is one of the most important documents that we receive, as it is direct feedback from our frontline teams about what it is like to work at the trust.

“We are extremely proud that the results show we are one of the best performing trusts in the country and the highest performing trust in the Black Country.

“I am particularly proud that staff feel pleased with the support they receive from the organisation and that they are able to deliver the best possible care to our patients.

“As always, the board will be looking at areas where we can make further improvements in terms of working with our colleagues to make sure that we continue to drive to be an outstanding employer and continue to make improvements that make a difference to everybody who works for the trust.”
