Council working to evict travellers from Dudley park
Travellers are still parked on a Dudley park - three days after they set up camp.
More than 15 caravans are camping on Grange Park, which is often used by dog walkers, families and people playing football.
They were first spotted on the green space on Tuesday, when Dudley Council started the legal process to evict them.
However the caravans were still at the park off Grange Road on Friday morning.
Councillor Laura Taylor, cabinet member for housing, said: "We were made aware of the unauthorised encampment on Grange Park, Dudley on July 31 2018.
"Officers immediately visited the site and began the necessary legal process to move the travellers on.
"We will be following the normal process and seek a court date as soon as possible.
"In the meantime we will continue to monitor the site in order to ensure that it is effectively maintained during the incursion.
“This brings into focus the benefits of the proposed temporary transit site for travellers within the borough which results in a much swifter process of dealing with unauthorised traveller encampments."
