Birmingham artist and activist to share migration artwork at exhibition in London museum
A Birmingham-based human rights activist will open an exhibition showcasing her work with migrants at an exhibition in London this month.

The Migration Blanket Collection will be on display at Islington Museum following International Women's Day from March 10th to April 3rd. The exhibition aims to explore how we can build stronger, more equal communities while taking action to protect the planet.
The artworks and films featured in the exhibition were created through ARTconnects, a project that brings people, communities, and organisations together to promote peace, tolerance, gender equality, mental health, and environmental protection.

Founded by Birmingham-based artist Salma Zulfiqar BEM, ARTconnects has been recognised for its role in promoting diversity and creating positive change. Over the past eight years, it has influenced leaders in various fields, from world leaders to community organisers. Salma's work has reached communities across Europe, the USA, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
Speaking to the Express and Star, Salma said: "There has never been a more important time to bring communities together to support those who are marginalised and isolated and this exhibition explores how we can make communities stronger, harmonious, more peaceful and more prosperous."
The Migration Blanket Collection reflects ARTconnects' ongoing mission to unite people and create a more inclusive and sustainable future. For more information, visit the ARTconnects website.
