Man assaulted in Birmingham remains in 'serious condition' as police continue to investigate

A man who was attacked and badly hurt in the early hours of Sunday remains in serious condition as police continue to investigate the events surrounding the assault.

West Midlands Police said officers are continuing to investigate after the man was left with serious injuries following an assault in Granville Street, Birmingham

Emergency services responded after a man, believed to be in his 30s, suffered a number of injuries at around 4am, leaving him in critical condition. 

Police have launched an appeal for information about the attack, with officers saying he "remains in a serious condition".

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We're continuing to investigate after a man was found injured in Granville Street at just after 4am on Sunday (February 23).

"He remains in a serious condition in hospital. We're working to establish exactly what happened and anyone with information is asked to contact us."
