The train company warned that Friday's services may be "extremely busy" and may also be subject to "last-minute changes and cancellations".

The group advised those travelling by trains to check well ahead to minimise any disruptions to their journeys.

"Please check before you travel and ensure you are able to complete your journey as services may be subject to change."

The majority of the disruption is expected between the Cardiff and Birmingham lines, however, the group urged that many journeys may be subjected to changes.
