Three youths arrested on suspicion of robbery and assault after attack on mystery man in Birmingham

Birmingham police have launched an appeal to identify a man who appeared to have been robbed and assaulted in the city centre.

Officers have released a photograph of the alleged victim after the incident yesterday (Friday) was reported by passersby.

West Midlands Police said: "We were alerted to a man being assaulted and robbed on Smallbrook Queensway at around 2am yesterday (November 29). From witness accounts the victim, believed to be aged in his mid-30s to 40s, left the area and was unsteady on his feet.

"As part of our investigation we've arrested three youths on suspicion of robbery but, despite extensive inquiries we have still to locate the victim. We want to establish how seriously injured they are and if they need hospital treatment."
