Man charged with murder after stabbing victim dies in hospital
A man has been charged with murder after a stabbing victim died in hospital.
Gary Warner, aged 31, died on Saturday afternoon after arriving at Good Hope Hospital with stab injuries to his chest at around 5am that day.
Detectives believe Mr Warner travelled to the hospital in a silver Skoda Yeti.
Kane Stonehouse, 20, from Stone Avenue, Falcon Lodge, Sutton Coldfield, was arrested on Saturday night and will appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court on Monday. He has also been charged with possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
Mr Warner’s family have since paid tribute to the "loving brother, son, nephew, uncle and friend". In a statement, thye said: “We are devastated at our loss, Gary was a kind loving brother, son, nephew, uncle and friend.
"He had a zest for life and everyone who knew him loved him.
"We want to thank all our friends and family for their support not only to us but to the investigation. The family would now like to be left to grieve in private.”
West Midlands Police officers are continuing to appeal for anyone who may have seen the vehicle in Stone Avenue, Falcon Lodge, Sutton Coldfield, between 4am and 5am to contact them.
Detective Inspector Wes Martin from the Homicide Team, said: “We are still appealing for anyone who saw the silver Skoda Yeti between 4am and 5am in and around Falcon Lodge to get in touch.
“Our thoughts remain with Mr Warner’s family at this very difficult time.”
