Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash with car
A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash with a car.
The smash took place on Chester Road, in Erdington, Birmingham, at around 10pm yesterday.
Members of the public rushed to the man's aid before paramedics arrived following multiple 999 calls.
The car driver was also checked over but didn't require hospital treatment.
The motorcyclist taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a MERIT trauma doctor were sent to the scene.
An ambulance service spokesman said: "The motorcyclist, a man, was in a serious condition upon the arrival of ambulance staff and was being cared for by members of the public who had stopped to assist.
"The man was quickly assessed and found to have sustained serious injuries.
"His condition was stabilised on scene before he was conveyed on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham; the doctor travelled to continue treatment on route.
"The car driver was assessed on scene but didn’t require hospital treatment."
