Car flips onto roof after crashing into ambulance
A car crashed into the side of an ambulance and flipped onto its roof.
The ambulance was parked up at the scene of a crash when another car crashed into the side of the ambulance and overturned.
The driver of the car, a woman, got out of the car and was taken to hospital.
The ambulance crew were unharmed in the incident on the A4040 City Road in Ladywood.
Claire Brown, spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "The ambulance was parked up at the scene of a road traffic collision on City Road, Ladywood when a car collided with the side of the ambulance and overturned onto its roof at 2.21am this morning. Three paramedic officers were sent to the scene.
"Thankfully the ambulance crew were uninjured in the incident. The driver of the car, a woman, self-extricated from the car and was given treatment on scene before being taken to hospital.
"The patients involved in the initial road traffic collision were all assessed and discharged on scene."
