Loaded gun found after car searched in Birmingham
A loaded firearm has been seized by police during a traffic operation in the West Midlands.
Concerns were raised by officers around a silver Volkswagen Jetta parked on Ward End Park Road in Birmingham.
The officers, who were on a traffic operation in the area on Thursday, searched the car and found a loaded revolver in the glovebox.
The car and firearm have been recovered for forensic examination as officers work to trace the owners.
A spokesman for the West Midlands Police said: "We take firearms offences incredibly seriously and continue to maintain pressure on criminals to protect our community."
