Woman airlifted to hospital after being knocked over by remote-controlled car

A woman had to be airlifted to hospital after being knocked over by a remote-controlled car in a West Midlands park.

Emergency services were called to centre of Sutton Park, in Sutton Coldfield, at around 4.30pm on Monday.

The Midlands Air Ambulance, from the Tatenhill air base, was sent to the scene, as well as a land ambulance.

The woman suffered serious injuries after landing awkwardly and was airlifted to hospital for further treatment.

A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "Crews arrived to find a woman who had sustained serious injuries.

"They were told the woman had been knocked off her feet by a remote-controlled car which caused her to land awkwardly.

"Ambulance staff worked to administer trauma care and stabilise the woman’s injuries on scene before she was airlifted to hospital for further emergency care.”
