Man in 50s stabbed in Birmingham attack
A man in his 50s was taken to hospital after a stabbing in Birmingham.
Emergency services were called to Shannon Road, in the Kings Norton area, at around 6.40pm yesterday evening.
Paramedics treated a man, in his 50s, for a stab wound, before he was taken to hospital for further treatment.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, a West Midlands Police spokesman said.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a stabbing on Shannon Road in Kings Norton at 6.41pm on Wednesday night.
"One ambulance, a paramedic officer and a MERIT trauma doctor attended the scene.
"On arrival, we discovered one patient, a man, who was treated for a single stab wound. He was then transported to hospital for further assessment.”
A spokesman for West Midlands Police added: "We were alerted by ambulance service colleagues to a man being discovered with a stab wound to the back in Shannon Road at 6.45pm on Wednesday.
"The man in his 50s was taken to hospital although his injuries were not life-threatening.
"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information can contact us."
