Woman dies in hospital two weeks after Birmingham collision
A 62-year-old woman died almost two weeks after being hit by a car in Birmingham.
Sultan Bi was struck by a Toyota Corolla Verso on a car park near Azad Supermarket in Alum Rock Road at around 10.50am on March 4.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital with fractures to her spine but died on March 16.
In a statement, her family said: "Our mum was the most loving and caring person, she was a beautiful mother, grandma, nan, auntie and friend to many people and leaves a huge void in all our lives.
"We urge witnesses to come forward with any information surrounding the incident, however small they feel.
"We are devastated by the loss of our mum, our lives will be empty without her. We ask that our privacy is respected at this difficult time."
West Midlands Police is continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have further information. The driver of the car, a 69-year-old man, remained at the scene and is helping police with enquiries.
Sergeant Alan Hands, from the serious collision investigation unit, said: "Our thoughts are with the family of Ms Bi at this terrible time.
"We’re keen to hear from anyone who was in the Alum Rock area around the time of the collision and may have information to assist our enquiries."
Anyone with information can call 101, or email fl_collision_invest@west-midlands.pnn.police.uk, by quoting 1202 of March 4.
