Worker dies after incident at University of Birmingham
A worker at the University of Birmingham died and another was injured after a "serious incident".
The worker died after the incident on January 7.
A Balfour Beatty spokesman said: “A serious incident took place at the University of Birmingham on 7th January 2020. As a result of the incident, a colleague working for one of our supply chain partners has tragically lost their life with another requiring medical attention.
“Our deepest sympathies are with the family, friends and co-workers of the deceased at this time.
“The health and safety of our workforce and the public is always our primary concern. To assist the authorities with their investigation, the facility at the site has been temporarily closed.
"Whilst employees have returned to site, the investigation remains ongoing and as such it would be inappropriate to comment further.”
