Delays on Midland Metro hitting Christmas shoppers
People looking to travel on the newly re-opened Midland Metro to and from Wolverhampton and Birmingham suffered delays in the lead up to Christmas Eve.
The company, which has only just completed its work to renew the line from Wolverhampton to Birmingham, said it was dealing with some 'operational requirements' on December 23 that meant its services were delayed.
Travellers experienced delays of 10 minutes from 7.45am on Saturday between Grand Central station and Wolverhampton.
Tweeting about the issues, @MidlandMetro said: "Trams are running between Grand Central & Wolverhampton with some delays due to operational requirements.
"Max delays are 10 minutes.
"We apologise for the inconvenience."
The Midland Metro Alliance completed its six months of work to improve the tram lines ahead of schedule earlier this month.
