No new Covid deaths confirmed in region – for the third day this week
No new coronavirus deaths have been confirmed across the Black Country, Staffordshire and Birmingham – for the third day this week.
It means the total number of Covid deaths in the region's hospitals remains at 7,587.
A further 1,414 people have died after testing positive for coronavirus in care homes in the region.
No deaths were announced in the Black Country, Staffordshire and Birmingham on Monday or Wednesday either.
NHS England confirmed a further nine deaths on Thursday in the country's hospitals.
A total of 801 people have died at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, 740 at the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust and 721 at the Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust.
At the Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust a total of 1,715 have died, and at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust a total of 1,376 have died.
And 2,610 people have died at the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.
A total of 45,908,796 vaccinations have been carried out across England to date – including first and second doses.
In the Midlands, 5,708,701 first doses of the coronavirus vaccine has been administered, while 3,025,188 second doses have been carried out.
The data includes vaccinations carried out between December 8 and May 12.
