Up to 30 students in Year 6 at Gig Mill Primary School, based on The Broadway in Norton, Stourbridge, were sent home yesterday.

A letter from the school, sent out to parents, said: “We have been made aware we have a confirmed positive case of Covid-19 at Gig Mill Primary.

"The individual has tested positive with an LFD test and is awaiting a confirmatory PCR test result.”

The pupils will need to self-isolate until May 8 unless the PCR test comes back negative.

Meanwhile a drive-in testing unit in Engine Lane, Brierley Hill, will move to Saltwells Education Centre’s car park on Saturday.
