The mobile Covid-19 testing unit will be staying at West Park for another week, allowing anyone without symptoms able to get a test at the unit, which is located near the Tea Rooms.

It will be open from 9am to 7pm until Bank Holiday Monday, 3 May, before moving to a new location the following day.

John Denley, Wolverhampton’s director of public health, said that testing was as vital as vaccination to helping control and suppress the virus.

He said: "Twice-weekly rapid testing is key to monitoring coronavirus infections, as evidence shows one in three people infected with Covid-19 do not show symptoms yet may still pass it on.

“Regular asymptomatic testing is helping to stop the virus spreading further, so I would encourage everyone living in Wolverhampton to get a test twice a week.

"Alongside vaccination, regular testing is helping to suppress and control the spread of the virus and which is key to getting back to a more normal way of life."
