One new coronavirus death confirmed at region's hospitals
One coronavirus death has been confirmed at one of the region's hospitals, in the latest figures.
It means the total number of Covid hospital deaths in the Black Country, Birmingham and Staffordshire increased to 7,573.
On top of this, a total of 1,390 people have died in the region's care homes after contracting coronavirus.
NHS England confirmed a further four deaths on Monday, meaning 86,872 people have now died in the country's hospitals after testing positive for coronavirus.
The one death was announced at the Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust, which runs Sandwell General and City hospitals, taking the total number of deaths to 1,712.
A total of 800 people have died at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, 736 at the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust and 720 at the Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust.
Meanwhile, 1,168 have died at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust.
And a total of 2,606 people have died at the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. The trust runs the Queen Elizabeth, Heartlands, Solihull and Good Hope hospitals.
A total of 39,081,147 Covid vaccinations have been carried out across England to date – including first and second doses.
In the Midlands, 5,458,959 first doses of the coronavirus vaccine has been administered, while 1,974,701 second doses have been carried out.
The data includes vaccinations carried out between December 8 and April 25.
