One more coronavirus death at Birmingham hospital
One further coronavirus death has been confirmed at a hospital trust in Birmingham with no new deaths recorded in the Black Country or Staffordshire.
It brings the total of people who have died with Covid-19 in hospitals to 7,546.
A further 1,387 people have died in the region’s care homes after contracting coronavirus.
The death was recorded at the University Hospitals of Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Queen Elizabeth, Heartlands, Solihull and Good Hope hospitals, bringing the total there to 2,597.
The death toll at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust stands at 798, while at the Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust and Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust it remains at 1,165 and 732 respectively.
There were also no new deaths recorded at either University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, where the total stands at 1,373, or the Walsall Healthcare Trust where the toll stands at 719.
