24 more coronavirus deaths across Black Country, Birmingham and Staffordshire
A further 24 coronavirus deaths have been confirmed in hospitals in the Black Country, Birmingham and Staffordshire.
The deaths announced on Friday mean 7,227 people have now died with the virus in the region's hospitals.
On top of this, a further 1,339 have died in the region's care homes after contracting coronavirus.
In figures released from NHS England on Friday, a further 307 deaths were confirmed in the country's hospitals – taking the total to 82,717.
A further 11 deaths were confirmed at the Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust, where 1,107 people have now died with Covid.
Three deaths were announced at the Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, meaning 694 Covid patients have now died at Walsall Manor Hospital.
Two deaths were recorded at the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Russells Hall Hospital, meaning the death toll remains at 694.
One death was reported at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, where the death toll at New Cross Hospital increased to 765.
A further death was confirmed at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, which runs the main hospitals in Stafford and Stoke, taking the trust's death toll to 1,328.
One death was announced at the Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, taking the total of deaths to 74.
Five deaths were recorded at the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Queen Elizabeth Hospital as well as Heartlands, Solihull and Good Hope hospitals, taking the death toll there to 2,484.
Elsewhere, three deaths were reported at the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.
A spokesman for NHS England said: "A further 307 people, who tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 82,717.
"Patients were aged between 34 and 100 years old. All except nine – aged 60 to 94 years old – had known underlying health conditions.
"Date of death ranges from November 3 to February 25 with the majority being on or after February 19.
"Their families have been informed."
Meanwhile, 16,785,841 coronavirus vaccinations have been carried out across England to date – including first and second doses.
In the Midlands, 3,138,047 first doses of the coronavirus vaccine has been administered, while 85,958 second doses have been carried out.
The data includes vaccinations carried out between December 8 and February 25.
