Further 35 coronavirus deaths at region's hospitals
A further 35 coronavirus patients have died in hospitals in the Black Country, Staffordshire and Birmingham.
It means the total number of Covid-19 patients who have died in the region's hospitals now stands at 6,831.
A further 1,267 have died in the region's care homes.
In figures announced by NHS England on Friday, a further 407 patients died in the country's hospitals, taking the total to 78,152.
Ten deaths were reported at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, which runs the main hospitals in Stafford and Stoke, taking the toll to 1,277.
Four deaths were confirmed at the Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust, which runs Sandwell General and City hospitals, where the death toll now stands at 1,019.
A further four deaths were recorded at the Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, taking the toll at Walsall Manor hospital to 642.
Four deaths were announced at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, which runs New Cross Hospital, where the total now stands at 729.
Thirteen deaths were reported at the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust, which runs hospitals in the city including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where the toll now stands at 2,360.
No new deaths were confirmed at the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Russells Hall Hospital, where the death toll remains at 653.
Elsewhere, seven deaths were recorded in Worcestershire – five at the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and two deaths at the Worcestershire Health and Care Trust.
A spokesman for NHS England said: "A further 407 people, who tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 78,152.
"Patients were aged between 25 and 101 years old. All except 17 – aged 25 to 97 years old – had known underlying health conditions.
"Date of death ranges from December 9 to February 11 with the majority being on or after February 6.
"Their families have been informed."
Meanwhile, 12,293,207 coronavirus vaccinations have been carried out across the country to date – including first and second doses.
In the Midlands, 2,256,625 first doses of the coronavirus vaccine has been administered, while 72,013 second doses have been carried out.
The data includes vaccinations carried out between December 8 and February 11.
