Covid: Further 25 deaths at Black Country, Birmingham and Staffordshire hospitals
A further 25 coronavirus patients have died in hospitals in the Black Country, Birmingham and Staffordshire.
It means a total of 3,336 people have died in the region’s hospitals after contracting coronavirus since the pandemic began.
On top of this, 750 have died with coronavirus in care homes in the Black Country, Birmingham and Staffordshire since April 10 when recording began.
Two more deaths were recorded at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs Sandwell General and City hospitals, where the toll increased to 500.
One person died at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, which runs New Cross and Cannock Chase hospitals, where the death toll has now increased to 335.
A total of eight more people died at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Queen Elizabeth, Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull hospitals, where the total stands at 1,247.
At the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, which runs County Hospital in Stafford and the Royal Stoke University Hospital, 11 more people died, taking the total to 525.
And three people died at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, which runs Walsall Manor Hospital, where the toll is 314.
A spokesman for NHS England said: "A further 326 people, who tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 37,796.
"Patients were aged between 29 and 100 years old. All except six (aged 50-82) had known underlying health conditions.
"Date of death ranges from 11 September to 19 November 2020.
"Their families have been informed."
