1,000 people a week testing positive for Covid in Sandwell
More than 1,000 people a week across Sandwell are currently testing positive for coronavirus.
The local authority appealed to residents to stay at home to help stop the spread of Covid-19.
Sandwell Council tweeted saying: "More than 1,000 people a week in Sandwell are testing positive for Covid-19.
"The safest place to be is at home.
"Please, stay at home as much as you can and only leave your home if it's essential you go out.
"Help stop the spread of Covid-19 and protect our NHS."
