Wolverhampton city centre bank closed after staff member tests positive for coronavirus

A bank in the centre of Wolverhampton has been closed temporarily after a member of staff tested positive for coronavirus.

Staff at the Lloyds Bank branch in Queen Square have been asked to self-isolate, with cleaning now set to take place.

A spokesman for the bank said: "We have temporarily closed the Lloyds Queens Square branch, Wolverhampton, to allow for the building to be cleaned, after a colleague was diagnosed with Covid-19.

"Our priority is the wellbeing of our colleagues and customers. We will continue to follow Government guidance, and have taken the precautionary steps to advise some colleagues to self-isolate."

No date has been confirmed for when the branch will reopen, except that it will be at an "appropriate time".
