The Three Tuns in Willenhall was closed earlier this afternoon when a coronavirus outbreak emerged through the test and trace system. It has since reopened.

Council bosses are working with the Walsall Road pub and Public Health England to ascertain how many people may have become infected.

It is believed those infected were family members.

Walsall Council leader Mike Bird, said the pub had closed with the owner’s consent before reopening.

More Covid-19 coverage:

“To their great credit they appear to have done everything right," he added. "They have got test and trace in place and are an example of good practice.

“The process is now underway to track down people who have been there.”

Meanwhile, another four pubs in the Staffordshire town of Stone have announced temporary closures, after 10 people tested positive after drinking in The Crown & Anchor.
