Mobile coronavirus testing site in Cannock
A mobile coronavirus testing unit manned by the military has been set up in Cannock.
The new testing site has been set up on Finning UK & Ireland's car park on the A5.
The mobile testing units began operating at the site on June 9.
Keith Oakes, head of safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) at Finning, said: “Providing use of our car park so that people across the West Midlands can get tested is a small contribution but the company was keen to play its part.
“During testing, a one-way system will be set up in the staff car park, which is not currently in use.
“There will be no queuing on the A5, and it will be kept completely separate from any on-site operations, to guarantee our employee’s health, safety and wellbeing.”
Anyone with symptoms can book a test by visiting nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-1 but priority will be given to essential key workers. Only those with a pre-booked appointment will be seen.
Those unable to access the internet can call 119 or 0300 303 2713.
