The service will operate Monday to Friday and limit collections to up to three items only for a reduced charge of £10. Residents will be able to call the Clean and Green Services customer contact centre from Monday to book a bulky waste collection.

Leader of Walsall Council, Councillor Mike Bird, said: “The bulky waste collection service is important for residents and one we have been constantly reviewing to get it back up and running as soon as possible.

“Our first priority is to make sure we protect the health of our residents and staff and careful planning, along with improved staffing levels, means we can now offer this service to Walsall residents again, though not at full capacity and with strict social distancing and hygiene measures in place.”

Items that can be booked for bulky item collection include beds, mattresses, bedroom furniture, sofas, white goods, cookers and TV units.

Items that cannot be collected include bagged waste, garden waste, garden sheds and fences, commercial waste, building waste or rubble, clinical waste or hazardous waste.
