Summer Ellis, aged 11 from Bloxwich has designed a rainbow pair of football boots, and is hoping they will be made into a proper pair of football boots by a major company

Summer Ellis, aged 11 from Bloxwich, plays for Walsall Ladies FC's under 12s team, however, her training is on hold due to coronavirus.

Using some of her free time during lock down, the creative youngster designed a pair of rainbow football boots which she hopes someone will help her produce with proceeds going to support NHS frontline staff.

She has already written a letter to sportswear manufacturer Adidas to ask if they would be willing to help produce the shoes.

Kelly Harper, Summer's mum a carer aged 31, said: "We uploaded the rainbow boots design on social media. I didn't think anybody would share but the support Summer has had from community is truly amazing with people sharing across the UK as well as America and Australia.

"She also had the help and support from Matt Sporting and the Rainbow Trails page, they have been amazing."

If her boots are produced, Summer hopes that players in the new football season will wear them, including the England Men's and Lionesses teams.

Summer said: "I am not giving up on getting the rainbow boots produced, I will keep trying my best to help raise money for the NHS.

"Thank you to everyone who has helped and shared the design on social media and my football manager and assistant coach Scott for teaching me to never give up on my dreams."
