20,000 food parcels going to vulnerable people in Staffordshire

Volunteers are aiming to deliver 20,000 parcels of essential food to vulnerable people in Staffordshire over the coming weeks.

The emergency parcels will be given to people who have to stay at home because of the coronavirus restrictions and have no one nearby to help.

A spokesman for Staffordshire County Council said: "An army of county council staff and volunteers have been working tirelessly to pack essential food and household items into boxes ready to deliver to people's doors.

"The emergency parcels will help those who have to stay at home because of coronavirus and have no friends, family or neighbours who can help them to get essential supplies.

"We are aiming to deliver 20,000 parcels across Staffordshire over the next few weeks."
