Gary "Brummie" Martin, 60, of Cannock, raised £2,800 through his first gig last Saturday night.

This amount blew away his expectations and the father-of-four has now planned follow up sets, with one earmarked for the Easter bank holiday weekend.

More than 11,000 people tuned in to his gig which was broadcast from the comfort of his conservatory.

Gary, originally from Birmingham, has been a DJ for 42 years.

He used to perform at bars and clubs, including over in Benidorm, but now DJs for a hobby.

Gary, a deliver driver for Lloyds pharmacy, told the Express & Star: "This idea started a couple of weeks ago.

"A lot of my friends on Facebook were saying how terrible all of this is.

"I thought what I would do is go live on Facebook, we could have a laugh and I would cheer everyone up.

"They said 'good idea Gaz' then my son [Bradley] said 'why don't you do a fundraiser?'.

"He set up a page and I said to Brad 'if we can raise a couple hundred pounds then we have done our bit'.

"But then we ended up raising £2,800."

Gary is known as DJ Gary Brummie on set as his is originially from Birmingham.

He plays a wide variety of tracks from Ed Sheeran to Madonna. However his favourite type of music is Northern Soul.

But on Facebook Live he takes requests from social media users.

Gary is no stranger to DJing for charity and regular gets asked to do sets for good causes.

He gave a special thanks to The Black Chicken, a bar in Benidorm, for helping to promote his last Facebook Live feed.

Anyone wishing to tune in should visit Gary Brummie Martin on Facebook.

The set, which people could view over livestream, had the full works with multi-coloured strobe lights included.
