'We can't thank you enough': Black Country rocker delivers special message to West Midlands Police
A singer from an iconic Black Country rock band has sent a special message of thanks to West Midlands Police.
Rob Halford, of the West Bromwich-formed Judas Priest, addressed a short video to officers saying, "Us West Midlanders can't thank you enough".
While most of the country is on lockdown amid the coronavirus outbreak, police officers remain on the frontline.
West Midlands Police shared the video from Mr Halford, who was dressed in leather jacket and sunglasses, on its social media channels.
Mr Halford also encouraged rock fans to "keep the heavy metal faith", and said he hoped his band - who have sold more than 50 million albums worldwide - will get back on the road.
He said: "I'm just taking a moment to send you my love and thanks, and support and gratitude, for all the great work that you guys in the West Midlands Police are doing right now.
"You are on the front line and I can't thank you enough and us West Midlanders can't thank you enough, for all the great work you are doing, helping us keep safe and getting through this together, like we do, Yam Yams [slang term for Black Country people].
"We will overcome this, we always do. And with you guys there, with your strength and with your support, and your love of the West Midlands, we will pull through this together won't we, like we always do.
"So keep blasting some metal, keep the heavy metal faith, and I hope to see you sometime when Priest gets back on the road, alright? See ya."
