Areas with the highest fertility rates in the UK revealed - with three areas of the Black Country in the top 10
A new study has revealed that Wolverhampton, Sandwell and Walsall are among the top 10 areas for the highest fertility ratings in England and Wales.

Fertility clinic Cada analysed birth statistics data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) on the number of live births, stillbirths and fertility rates by area of usual residence for mothers in England and Wales in 2023.
“The Total Fertility Rate (TFR) is the average number of live children that a group of women would bear if they experienced the age-specific fertility rates of the calendar year throughout their childbearing lifespan," according to ONS.
The analysis showed that Wolverhampton ranked fifth with a 1.87 fertility rate and had 3,407 live births and 19 stillbirths for mothers who reside there in 2023.
