Surinder Mann, from Oxley in Wolverhampton, decided to do something special to support the cancer care charity.

With the help of her children Kiran, aged 11, Ryan, five, and husband Sukhvinder, she has created Christmas goody bags, containing crackers, sweets, chocolate and a Christmas card from Mrs Claus.

The family has also made a large luxury Christmas hamper, packed with mince pies, snowflake cupcakes, biscuits, pickles, coffee and wine. Surinder, who dressed up as Mrs Claus, was accompanied by Sukhvinder, dressed as an elf, to deliver her gifts.

She said: “Given this year’s extraordinary events of Covid-19 and the massive impact this has had on us all, I wanted to do something different, to spread joy, happiness especially to the people at Compton Care.”

“It’s been a year where people have united to help others in any way they can and I wanted to be part of that and to give back to those most in need in our community. I wanted to support a charity hence why I decided that i will make some Christmas Bags and deliver some goodies to Compton Care.

“I wanted to show my support and let people know that there are people out there who do care.

“I would like to thank Morrisons at Pendeford, Tesco at Willenhall, Co-Op on Stafford Road, Wilko in the Mander Centre, the Cake Shop and S & D Stores both on Dudley Road.

“Without the support of these organisations it may not have been possible to fulfil this idea.

“My aim is to spread some Christmas cheer and happiness at the end of a dismal year!”
