Praise for St John Ambulance heroes by Dudley-based president
A newly appointed area president for St John Ambulance has paid tribute to the organisation's heroes in Dudley.
And Dudley councillor Adam Aston, the area president of Dudley, has also called on people to celebrate volunteers as part of St John's Day, which falls on Wednesday.
Councillor Aston said: "Nationally, our volunteers have spent more than 100,000 hours caring for patients during the coronavirus crisis and Dudley members have been an important part of that.
More Covid-19 coverage:
"They have also continued to undertake online training, essential fundraising and supported their local communities."
He added: "St John Ambulance has a long and proud history within our borough. I have asked for the council house in Dudley to be lit with green light on Wednesday and for the St John Ambulance flag to fly from one of our public buildings as a thank you to volunteers, past and present."
